Our Mission
Welcome to
Lessons From the Garden
Our non-profit provides children and adults hands-on opportunities to explore nature by gardening. In addition to cultivating new spaces, we revitalize abandoned and neglected outdoor areas.
Our platform for developing an appreciation for the natural world is simple: gardening basics, grow some food and understand the life cycles of plants, animals, and insects. Healthy eating habits, responsibility, a work ethic, patience, and communal sharing are all essential lessons from the garden.

As a practitioner of Occupational Therapy in the schools, I have been trained to think about the whole child. This includes their emotional & social health, their ability to visualize and play freely, to explore and understand the sensory world around them, and encourage their need to have a place to explore and connect with the natural environment.
